In 1991, Egyptian German Industrial Corporate (EGIC) was established to introduce PP-R systems for water supply in the Egyptian market, then expanded to all reliable plumbing and sanitary products.

EGIC operates four top-class manufacturing facilities in Egypt plus one in Germany, producing water supply and drainage solutions from polypropylene, PVC, polyethylene and copper under the Bänninger, Kessel and Smart Home brands. One of the facilities is the largest copper foundry in the Middle East.

Through lean manufacturing and high-tech machinery supported by SAP control, EGIC's facilities are among the highest-efficiency certified plants in the Middle East.
