Business Models

Commission, markup and factory rebate, or a mix: how to turn them on and set their default rates in Sourcing Settings.

Available Updated 2026-10-04 Open this screen in the demo ↗

Sourcing agents earn money in different ways, often more than one. Sourcing Settings tells the product how you work, and the forms show only what you use. The settings are available today; the costing sheet and the orders that apply them come in November 2026.

The three models

ModelYou earnYour client sees
Commission (service fee)A fee on top of the factory price, as a percent or a fixed amountThe factory price and your fee
Trading (markup)The difference between the factory price and your selling priceYour selling price only
Factory rebatesA percent or amount the factory pays you backThe factory price

Mix combines models on one order, for example a markup on some products and a service fee on others. It is offered when two or more models are on.

Set them up

  1. Open Sourcing Settings (Administrator or Sourcing Manager).
  2. Under Business Models, tick the models you use.
  3. Choose the Default Model for new deals and, if you want, Allow Mix.
  4. For each model, choose Percent or Fixed and the default value.
  5. Check Prices Valid For (Days): 30 by default.
  6. Save.

A new site starts with all three models on, Mix allowed and Commission as the default. A service fee or rebate percent is at most 100; a markup can be higher. Prices are in US dollars.

What changes on the forms

Fields for a model you turned off are hidden everywhere, so your team never sees a rebate field if you don’t take rebates. Sourcing Agents can read the settings; only Managers and the Administrator change them.

Coming November 2026

  • Costing sheet with your model applied, from factory price to the client’s price.
  • Client quotation that never shows the factory cost under trading.
  • Order flows per model, including drop-shipping from the factory.
  • Commission entries that record what each deal earned you, and your partners’ share.

See Sourcing Workflow.
