Add your bank details
Your bank, account name and account number or IBAN, so your invoices tell the client how to pay you.
What it is
Your invoices tell the client how to pay you by bank transfer. The Day One page’s third step, Bank details, saves your bank, the account name and the account number or IBAN. The site makes the bookkeeping records for you: a ledger account, the bank record and your company’s default bank account.
Why it matters
Without bank details, the proforma invoice and the invoice print no payment instructions, and the client has to ask for them by message.
Steps
- On the Day One page, find Bank details.
- Type your Bank (the bank’s name) and the Account Name (the name on the account).
- Fill in the Bank Account No or the IBAN — one of them is enough. Add the SWIFT number if clients pay you from abroad.
- Select Save. Saving again updates the same records; nothing is made twice.
Skipped the Day One page? Type Bank Account in the search bar, add the account there and mark it your company’s default.
Common mistakes
- Leaving both the account number and the IBAN empty. A client cannot pay an invoice with no account on it; fill in one.
- Using a personal account. The details print on every invoice a client receives.
Tips
- Your bank gives you the SWIFT number; it is on most statements and in the bank’s app.
