Your day-one checklist
The Day One page guides you through your brand, company and bank details; this list covers the rest of your first 30 minutes.
What it is
The first time you sign in, the Day One page opens. It guides you through three steps — Your brand, Company details and Bank details — with what your site already knows filled in. Select Skip for now to leave it at any time; it never blocks the rest of the site, and this checklist always shows what is left.
| Already done for you | Where to see it |
|---|---|
| Your company, with your currency (US dollars or Chinese yuan) and a standard chart of accounts | Company |
| Your business model (commission, trading, factory rebates or a mix) | Sourcing > Settings |
| Sample factories, clients, products and client requests to practise on | Sourcing > Requests |
| A website with your company name | your site’s address, signed out |
| The language you chose, English or Chinese | your user settings |
Why it matters
The sample data lets you try every step before you enter anything real. The steps below turn the site into yours: your brand on what clients see, your margin, your team and your own data.
Steps
- On the Day One page: add your logo and colours in Your brand, fill in your company details and your bank details, then select Finish.
- Check how you earn and your rates: Set how you earn.
- Try a deal on the sample data: open a sample request under Sourcing > Requests and follow the sourcing workflow.
- Add the people who work with you: Add your team.
- Bring in your factories, clients and products from Excel: Import your data.
- When you are ready, delete the practice records: Remove the sample data.
Common mistakes
- Skipping the bank details and forgetting them. Your invoices print without payment instructions until they are filled in.
- Removing the sample data before you have tried a deal. It cannot be loaded again.
- Entering real clients and orders before you have chosen your currency. Check it first in Sourcing > Settings.
Tips
- Do step 1 and 2 before you invite a client. Your client’s first impression is your logo on the portal.
- Keep this page open in a browser tab while you work through the list.
