Client portal problems
What to do when an invitation does not arrive, a buyer sees an empty portal or a quotation cannot be approved.
The buyer never got the invitation email. Ask them to look in the spam folder, then select Invite to portal again — a new link is sent, valid for 3 days.
The invitation link expired. Links are valid for 3 days. Select Invite to portal again to send a new one — see Invite a client to the portal.
The buyer signed in but sees the website, not the portal. They are looking at the signed-out pages. Have them sign in on your site’s sign-in page with their email and password (or with Login with Email Link): a buyer lands on the portal’s Dashboard at every sign-in — the second sign-in works exactly like the first.
The buyer sees an empty portal. The portal shows only this client’s own requests, quotations and orders. Until you submit a quotation or the buyer sends a request, there is nothing to show — see What clients see.
The buyer can’t approve the quotation. Only submitted quotations wait under Quotes to approve. Check the quotation is submitted and its Valid Till has not passed — an expired quotation can no longer be approved: make a new one. See Clients approve quotations.
I invited the buyer to the wrong client. Remove them from that client’s Portal Users tab and save, then invite them to the right client.
A buyer works for two of my clients. Invite them to both. On the portal they choose which client a new request is for.
A buyer left the client’s company. Remove them from the client’s Portal Users tab and save; their access ends at once.
